Special screening at Upstate Films, Rhinebeck NY

OK, to the NY’ers reading this site, listen up: this is the movie theatre that sparked me to do what I do. They started this independent cinema in 1972 - right around the time my folks moved into what was then a sleepy, rural, farm-bordered community.
Fast forward to 2008 - I’ll match their calendar against any house in NYC. They throw on their two modest screens nearly everything good that comes out in the country.
That’s why, with my friend and colleague, director Francois Verster, in the country on a teaching stint, we simply had to organize a screening here. The venue owner was very receptive, and so this Thursday 12/4/08, we’re showing When the War is Over and the Emmy-winning A Lion’s Trail. (Click on the titles if you’d like to see a preview of some of my cinematography from these films.)
If you’re in the neighborhood, come out and see two great films. We’ll be across the street having drinks after the show so stick around and introduce yourselves!!
